This week I set myself the goal of getting home screen widgets working in Habitat. I hadn’t touched the codebase in over a month since I’ve had to deal with the busiest semester of my MSc course. Before I went on a mini-hiatus, I added a Bubble Grid widget which simply displays all of your habits in a grid of Habitat-style bubbles.
Since my app uses SwiftData for storing habit data, the Bubble Grid had to query the database somehow.
This is my first real shot at a blog/portfolio thing but I’ve decided that it’s finally time to migrate away from using Google as much as possible. Ideally I would like to only rely on a Google account for YouTube and nothing else.
It’s been getting harder and harder to justify using Google services lately and I feel like it’s only getting worse with their – and many other tech companies – recent infatuation with generative AI.
